Miss Munroe, - Carnations -----------------■ and Luv-a-grams Make Valentine’s Day A Real Heartstopper Valentine’s Day by itself was enough excitement, but Miss Munroe added to it was too much! Spirit week kicked off a week filled with activities, from sweatshirt day to detective day. In the pep rally on Friday, the Varsity girls and Varsity boys had a “shoot out.” After an ex- citing competition, the boys won, and Laura Alexander smeared a pie in Coach Morris’ face. Each contestant represented a specific organization. The reigning 1987 Miss Munroe, Grace Ramos, crowned Kena Maxwell, who was escorted by Daniel Mitchell, the 1988 queen. Grades 7-12 topped off the eve- ning dancing to the latest hits blasted out by the Music Ma- chine. The evening ended early, but the spark of excitement still lingered. After all, Valentine’s Day was only two days away. 22 Student Life
