The second T our Australian li- berty poris, Melbourne was in the middle of the final weekend of the Moomba festival. The crowds of tourists attending the festival numbered in the tens-of-thou- sands, but the Dial-a-Sailor pro- gram still worked well. A smaller, more relaxed city than northern neighbor of Sydney, Melbourne is filled with trees and parks. The picturesque Yarra river was the site of many of the Moomba ac- tivities with the zoo also proving to be popular. The PEARY hosted tours of the ship for thousands of people during our stay. We were almost as popular to Melbourne as Melbourne was to us.
