Rogers, chairman Mrs. Paul Schumacher The purpose of the testing committee is to study the testing system and the associated factors and to make recommendations to the principal concerning them. The com- mittee will use the facts in trying to better the testing system at Lee. Acrelemtiorz Committee Mr. W. E. Nall Mrs. Gladys Thomason Mr. H. O. Maguire Mr. John Woodall Mrs. Bill Heule, chairman Mr. Ralph Hogan Mr. Guy Oxner Mr. Herman Rooks Mr. james Baskin To provide maximum training for students capable of doing work beyond that required in regular classes, Mr. Moore last spring appointed a committee to formulate plans for setting up an accelerated program. The committee considered the purpose of acceleration, the thinking of well-known educators on the subject, experimental programs in other schools, and recommendations from departments and individuals within our school. Out of these studies came the classes in cer- tain required academic subjects for students who showed above-average ability in those areas. As a result, special classes were begun this year in algebra, general science, geometry, biology, and sophomore English. Under the chairmanship of the guidance director, the registration committee, which grew out of recommendations by the committee on acceleration, is composed of teachers representing all departments in the school. They check the students' registration forms for accuracy and completeness, make any necessary changes, and make out each student's schedule for the next term. lb
