D.C.T. C SS Diversified Cooperative Training, which has been a part of the R. E. Lee Institute curriculum since 1938, is a phase of vocational education whereby a senior high school student, sixteen years of age, can work and study an occupation of his or her choice and can receive units of credit for the work on the job as well as for classroom study. The classroom work is divided into two different periods, one for general related study and the other for technically related study. In the general related period, the members study together subjects that are generally related to all occupa- tions. During the technically related period the individual studies subjects that are directly related to his or her occupation. This classroom study is arranged to corre- late as much as possible with the work experiences on the job. The D.C.T. program enables the student, upon graduation, to enter the Held of trade or business with a better knowledge of the occupation and to start full-time work at a better rate of pay. Through their social organization, the D.G.T. Federation, the members of thc D.G.T. class plan recreation of the proper type and participate in many worthy projects. Sponsor: Mr. Allen G. Again on September 27, the game was a high scoring affair as the Rebels defeated Hef- lin, Alabama, 59-0. In the third game of the season, the first scoring drive was started when Reese gained fourteen yards over tackle. Wilborn then waded over taekle for two yards before he faded back and passed to Radcliffe for the score. After this, Lee scored almost at will to defeat the team from Belzoni 26-0. Boyett led the Rebels to victory in the Man- ehester game with a final score of 60-0. ' The game with LaGrange was the first de- feat of the season for the Robert E. Lee Rebels. The Grangers took on early lead, and the score remained 7-0 during the first half. The opening whistle of the next half saw Reese and Boyett action. Lee scored, but the kiek was no good. At quarter time, the score was 7-6. Reese re- ceived the kick-off and ran thirty years. On the next play, he gained thirty more. At the end of the game, Lee had 12 points and La- Grange had 13. Next, Lee went to Americus where the Rebels were defeated 12-0. The only scoring threat came early in the game as Boyett returned the kick-off to the opposing twenty-five yard line. Reese went tothe ten. After this, the Americus line held. and Lee lost the ball on downs. The Rebels journeyed to Rockmart only to lose again, however, they fought bravely and came within one point of tying the score, 7-6. Reese scored Leek only points of the game behind the hard-driving line, Though the Athens team was victorious, the Rebels battled every inch of the way. Boyett again starred as he scored Lee's first points from the nineteen yard line. Garrett smashed to a second touchdown for Lee, after which Cald- well rnade the final Lee score, with the able assistance of Reese. The next Rebel trip was to Baker Villegc of Columbus, where Lee was defeated 24-12. Boy- ett and Radcliffe combined to score the twelve points. In the Griffin game, Griffin was rated a high favorite. Lee Lineman Garcia and Ruda- sill were outstanding, winning the prizes offered for being the top hustlers of the game.
