More than seven hundred students are en- rolled in Typ ing I and II this term. Students are also enrolled in shorthand, secretarial prac- tice, general business, bookkeeping, business law and economics. Mrs. Ruth Hicks, chairman of the Business Department, aids in the operation of the de- partment with its modern equipment and its latest methods of instruction. Fifteen new elec- tric and forty-two new manual typewriters were purchased this year. ,, we-h...... Mrs. Florence Wright instructs the drawing of right angles. The Fine Arts Classes not only teach skills, but also appreciation. They give the student a broader outlook and a wider concept of all sub- jects. The Fine Arts classes build confidence and the ability to apply the skills which bring individual satisfaction. The classes include Drafting, Art I and ll, Choral, Band, and Speech I and II. Mr. Charile Walker, Miss Carole Crouch, and Miss Ellen Moses in- struct .students in the fine points of oratory and drama, and coach them for Interscholastic competition. The Art Department, under Mr. Doyle Brown and Mrs. Marie Zamora, allows students to express themselves in oil painting, sculpture, and other specialized fields. Mrs. Florence Wright instructs drafting classes.
