Man has learned to harness the energy of water, fuels and atoms. He has developed great networks of communication, constructed buildings of mighty steel. Mathematics has been man's tool in these accomplishments. Math is basic to understanding the world today. It is the equipment needed by students who will take their places as educated persons in the modern world. Lee offers a wide range of subjects from Algebra I to Analytical Geometry and Probability and Statis- tics to all students wishing to advance in the field of mathematics. Geometry is used by im aginative students in growing in the m arhem atical side of art, just as Algebra and Trigonometrv are used to develop logic and reasoning. Related math is a study of the basic fundamentals of Algebra and Ge ometry, which is offered to all students. Much importance is pla ce d on these subjects, since the modern w orld of business requires a good knowledge of fundamental math. Courses in history are intended to present a bal- anced perspective ofthe origin, economic, cultural, and political c ustoms of the peoples of the world. Emphasis is placed on imperialism, diplomatic alli- ances, political ideas and reformations. Economics courses stress money and banking, corporation fi na n ce, la b o r, public finance, and business cycles. Principles of American Government, the consti- tution on which our government is based, problems in American foreign relations, and party politics are dealt with in the study of government. Civics presents the students a basis for the funda- mentals of American Government and the structure of other world governments. Texas History enables the students to learn more of the exciting background of the Lone Star State. Information intro d uce d to World History students ranges through the ages, from the days of the cavc- men to the World Wars. Mr. John Naranjo Mr. I. E.
