Mr. Charlie Walker meets and talks with parents during open house. 26 The Fine Arts Department helps students develop their musical, artistic and dramatic abilities. Mr. Charlie Walker and Miss Carole Crouch of the Speech and Drama Department instruct students in the fine points of oratory and drama, and coach them for Interscholastic competition. The Art Department, under Mr. Doyle Brown and Mr. William Redmond, allows stu- dents to study oil painting, sculpture, and other specialized fields of art. The Lee Band, under Mr. Marion Rodman, and the A Cappella Choir, under Mr. Reid Sel- lars, give Lee students excellent opportunities to increase their musical talents.

Vrfmiirfmzl Hourscs 15111011465 Student Prvgrams Gathered in the Vocational Department are a variety of courses including journalism, distributive education, industrial arts, and special education. This Department provides Lee students with many elective subjects for a well rounded scholastic pro- gram. Prospective journalists at Lee acquire profession- al in journalism's applications by working on the TRAVELER, under Miss Linda Howard and the BUGLE CALL, under Miss Sharon Russell. The world of business relations is revealed to students through distributive education taught by Mr. James Oppelt, Mr, George Lowther and Mr. Boyd Vaughn. Teaching industrial arts, Mr. Perry Penn instructs stud ents in the fields of professional art. The homemaking department, directed by Miss Barbara Wofford, Miss Wanda Dum and Mrs. lean Pearson, offers Leeites several courses in home eco- nomics. Special education students receive aid and instruction from Mrs. LaVern Jopling, Mr. Robert Tipton, Miss Sara Devall, Mrs. Thelma Vollmer, and Mr. Charles Horn.
