In this modern world we, as teenagers, find our- selves on the receiving end of more freedom, more choices, more problems, more conflicting advice than ever before. For us the four to eight years needed to cross over from childhood to adulthood form a uniquely trying interval of stress and groping. Thus, understanding teens today includes under- standing us and the world in which we live--and some experts have already succeeded in grasping the big picture of what it is like to be a teenager today.
