In 1958 they set the all time record by winning 23 All-State medals in a single year and again led the state in I959, I96O, I96l, and I963 by winning 21, 20, and I9 medals respectively. The Lee Band is the only band in Alabama in class AA to have received 6 consecutive superior ratings from the years 1957-T962 at the State Band Contest at the University of Alabama.
