Sports at Lee provided a means for students to show their General pride. During the football season the spirit at Lee could have been no higher. Pep rallies generated a liveliness that was carried over to the games. The Spirit Committee, the Lieutenants, the Band, and the Cheerleaders were the main forces in developing this attitude. Finishing Who are, who are, who are we? with a 7-3 record, the football team had its greatest season in over 3 years. The com- bination of school support, an excellent coaching staff, and exceptional physical talent, all made the Generals a winning team. The girls were not to be outdone, as their Freshman and Jr. Varsity volleyball teams charged to the City Championship.

How do we spend our spare time? Extra-curricular activities played a major role in the lives of everyone at Lee. Students were involved in a variety of groups and clubs. Some of these were ROTC, Band, Stu- dent Council, and lnteract. Clubs not only served the interests of its members, but also of the entire student body. College Night was one example of this. Sponsored by the Key Club, this activity gave students a chance to talk to representatives from over eighty universities. Oceanography classes took their trips to the beach in the fall and the spring. This was a favorite among students because they had fun while learning about the sea.
