The twenty-five member organiza- tion participated in a candy sale to help finance trips to the Texas Association of German Students' con- ventions and various other cultural activities. ' Conservatives Go Radical Political awareness was the main goal of the Young Conservatives of Texas. The Club consisted of 90 members who met on the first and third Tuesdays of every month, under the direction of Mrs. Susan Hooten, Mrs. Bronwyn Rack, and Mrs. Cindy O'Brien. The members registered 18 year old students to vote, and distributed voter education pam- phlets concerning candidates and their issues. Money obtained from selling tamales was used for a field trip to criminal courts and another trip to Austin. Members also held a spring picnic and a banquet in May.
