Beverly Hill at Hillcroft - Lee High School- Expanding intellectual horizons and preparing students for their future. Such a ridiculous statement! The students of Lee in 1978 never considered this conventional goal of pure preparation. We lived for the pres- ent, in a world of our own creation, a community that harbored every component of the massive society outside. Personalities and activities, suc- cesses and failures, and emotions - all were vital elements of both worlds. But our bountiful energy as young adults led to a burst of life that could seldom be found in the outer world, and experiences etched memories on our minds with a force we would never feel again - totally within the confines of our brief high school existence. We saw a mixture of fresh outlooks with past tradition. Remaining witnesses of the '74 riot had graduated with the previous senior class. Though our cliquish tendencies were obviously present, the hardline jet-freak-kikker distinc- tions became less noticeable. Spirited tradition and overall optimism remained with us. - The world of Lee truly vibra- ted with life. fX'5'9'fj fsigy 'fr 5- 15253 ff Us fi? 5 A Q l

Our teenage world gave us unparalleled opportunities for activity. What we did expo- sed our interests, and outlets for participation took differing forms to satisfy our 2088 diverse personalities. Although a majority chose not to join with school-oriented functions, few could avoid the impact of the minority's spirit. Football games at Butler Stadium were social phenomena. The win- loss record clearly reflected the effects of a year for rebuilding, but the pride during pep rallies never died. What games lacked in excitement, we made up with flirtatious habits in the stands. The impressive procession of floats before the Lee-Sharpstown homecoming game exhibited the unity of school spirit. Cooperation among the entire student body also became the theme of an active clean up campaign. Filth never left our lives, but dedication improved the campus appearance.
