On November 28, at the annual football banquet, awards were given to the outstanding players on the team. Charlie Williams received the award for Most Valuable Player, while Kevin Henry was named Most Valua- ble Back. Charlie Williams was also announced as winner of the Armchair Generals Award for the most out- standing player. Coaches, teachers, and parents were present to congrat- ulate each player for the last time. Although the banquet at the Briar Club marked the season's climax, anticipations of an even better team next fall were already developing. Coach Green won- ders what Stan Hin- son is drinking while Ronnie Rout- zon inconspicu- ously passes it under the fable. 25
