Solving club problems, as well as math prob- lems, are Mu Alpha Theta officers: Georgia Kostas, secretary, Martha Garcia, vice-presi- dent, Charles Cope, reporter, Vernon Proc- tor, president, and Robert Ghrist, treasurer. MAG Zeroes in on Math See, right here you'lI be able to find all the answers to your homework, comment Mar- tha Garcia and Jeanne Hoffman as they try to persuade Rhonda Virgil to buy a geome- ter. Every first and third Friday morning at 7:30, the doors of Lee are open to mem- bers of Mu Alpha Theta. Students who have completed four semesters of college preparatory mathematics, maintain an overall B average, and are enrolled in the fifth semester are eligible for membership. Aided by their sponsor, Mrs. Thera Yoes, the club promotes scholarship in, as well as enioyment and understanding of, mathematics. Geometers and trig tables were sold as a fund-raising proiect so that the math de- partment could purchase a math typewrit- er. Club members attended the Mu Alpha Theta Convention at Houston Baptist Col- lege in January and a contest at Waltrip on February 5th, and took the Math Asso- ciation of America Test in March. The year ended with the annual banquet and instal- lation of new officers. ' ,wr HG I: D 'd M d , C th B , D bb' M'll , Bettina Herbert, Dianne Horn, Cathy Schmitt.
