Math, Science Teachers Enjoy Variety of Hobbies Although they spent more than thirty hours a week at school, math and science faculty members enjoyed various outside activities not directly related to teaching. Algebra-trigonometry and analysis instructor Jay Higgs liked to hunt, fish and, on the weekends, recuperate from the weekdays. During his twentieth year of teaching, Wil- liam Roberson led the A.FS. club through various M M sales. Besides coaching J. V. basketball and girls’ tennis, Algebra teacher Jim Hodges relaxed by playing backgam- mon and basketball; Pamela Lott enter- tained and played tennis during her free time.
