Mr. John Sapon B.S. Virginia Polytechnical Institute Distributive Education This is Mr. Sapon's first year of teaching at Lee, after serving in the U.S. Air Force. Outside of school, he works with the Boy Scouts, collects records, and reads as a hobby. Mr. Richard Shenal B.A. Salem College Mechanical Drawing Physical Education Mr. Shenal is a newcomer to Lee High this year. He coaches 8th grade basketball and baseball and helps with J.V. Foot IV) ane Mr. Harold L. Sigler B.A. Lenoir Rhyne Physical Education Mr. Sigler has been on the Lee High Staff for four years. This year he has been head coach of the Varsity Football Team. Tension mounts as the Leemen prepare for the Broadway game. Coach Sigler reviews the plays as Assistant Coach Hartbarger looks on. Beaver, Erskine, Moffett, Moseley, Watson, and Krol listen attentively. 21

Washington and Lee University History and Government This is Mr. Taylor's fifth year teaching at Lee High. He coaches JV football, JV basket- ball, and Varsity track. His outside interests include read- ing and nature. Mrs. Trimble's Typing Class Mrs. Eleanor C. Trimble B.S. Longwood College Typing and Shorthand Mrs. Trimble teaches Shorthand, General Busi - ness, and Typing. Outside of school she enjoys play- ing bridge. Miss Laverne P. Wenger B.S. Madison College History Miss Wenger has taught American History at Lee for three years. She teaches Sunday School and is a member of the choir of the Spring Hill Pres- byterian Church.
