early in the year, it was already evident that coach linda weikel had produced another champi- on lee volleyball team for 1971. during the 1971 season, the lee high school girl ' s volleyball team became one of the top contenders for the district crown, led by team captain jeannene fox and a district players norma stegall and linda vander- griff, the rebels lost only one game in the first half of district play and were in a three way tie for first place, in the second half, the rebel ' s hopes of a district championship again reached a peak, these hopes, though, were spoiled as our girls lost to big spring and midland high, the girls did have another good year, though, as they achieved a record of 13 wins and 8 losses. 160 C.
