Dedication Years of meticulous planning and innumerable decisions are necessary in the construction of the modern high school. The most important choice does not involve architecture or air conditioning, but men. In january, 1961, as wonderfully equipped Robert E. Lee High School neared completion, Leslie R. Hinds was appointed its principal. His was the tedious task of seeing that the new build- ing fulfilled its function of education. Mr. Hinds set a high standard of leadership for faculty and students alike. From the first he expected the best from each of them, forging a strong bond between teachers, pupils, and the administration as all worked to benefit their school. His firmness in handling school policy earned him the respect of those who worked with him, and his wise counsel on proposed measures be- came highly valued. Through his familiarity with all. aspects of school life he became an integral part of each phase, making his students feel his per- sonal interest not only in their projects, but in them. Today, Lee stands strong and stable as a tribute to the untiring effort and faithful leadership of its principal. To him, Leslie R. Hinds, this third REBELEE is dedicated in gratitude for his win- ning spirit which has permeated the entire student body and has become the spirit of Robert E. Lee High School.
