PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE To The Students: You, the first students to attend Robert E. Lee High School, have had a privilege and a responsibility that only comes once in a lifetime. Along with every privilege is a responsibility. Not everyone has the opportunity of being a member of the first class in one of the most modern and well-equipped schools in the nation. Not everyone has the responsibility of establishing school spirit, standards, and traditions that will be used as guiding lights for all students who follow in years to come. As we look back upon the past year, we recall many experiences that are now memories—some pleasant and some not so pleasant. We had many problems common with the transition of moving from one school to another, yet you took these numerous difficulties and inconveniences during our shake-down cruise with unfailing patience and good humor. Each of you has had a part in writing the initial history of Robert E. Lee High School and we, the faculty and administration, feel you have set high ideals and outstanding examples that will be a challenge as well as a goal for each individual that follows in your footsteps. It is hoped that your experiences at this school have been happy and the results of hard work will prove successful in your future ventures. Sincerely, 10 Principal SUPERINTENDENT DR. HOLLIS A.
