Fall Homecoming Ganders v . Texnna The week before Homecoming is known as twirp week. During this week the girls get a chance to take the guy or guys they like, out for a date. The Student Council designates a special event for each night of the week. Monday was bowling night. Tuesday was show time. Wednesday was church or Putt-Putt night. Thursday was Pizza time, and Fn- day was the game night. On October 25. 1965. the Robert E. Lee Ganders met at Stallworth Stadium against the Rayburn Texans. The Ganders returned home with a 21 to 14 victory. Of course, then, came the dance. On Saturday night, the stu- dents gathered in the Lee commons for the Homecoming dance, and the crown- ing ol the queen. Jill Hinkle. 12 Summer A time to relax, or A time to move on Summer was a time when inends got together. Going to the beach, mall, or just hanging around was fun. Spending the night with inends, going out dunng the week, and sleeping late were just a iew things on the agenda. Some people were not as lucky, and did not get to do these things. Summer jobs and other reasons hindered them irom having fun. li they had a job. they had to get up early or work late. Going on vacations was usually iun. whether it was with iamily or triends. It might have been somewhere in the states or in other countries. Some people were not so lucky and had to go to summer school. Dnvers Education was lust one oi many classes oifered. as well as, English, science, history, math, and health. There were diiierent reasons lor going to summer school, like obtaining a drivers license. The other courses stu- dents took because they tailed, wanted to graduate early, or just did not want to take the class dunng the regular school year. Here are some people s comments on what they achieved over the summer Tammy Fuller (11) I spend most oi my time at the beach. I also, went camping, to my tnends homes, and tor a vacation. I went to Arkansas, but 1 was ready ior school to start. Michelle Richards; (11) ”1 worked and when I did not work ! went to the pool. 1 was ready lor school to start. Laura Morton; (11) ‘T got a great tan' I went to New Brauniels, Austin, and Gal- veston! The whole summer was a blast! Teresa Layman: (12) 'T layed out in the sun all day every day and the sun turned my hair redishbrown. 1 had one oi the darkest and best tans I’ve ever had in my life! Lynette Bryan: (12) I went to New Braunfels and Galveston all summer long and got an awesome tan! Cliff Riley (12): It was the most awesome summer I ever survived! Kelly Hawks: (10) I went to Astroworld and concerts all summer long. Kslly Hawks transcend to the future as she see the upcoming work of her sophomore year
