p The diversification of interests and the wide-ranging creativity exhibited by our student popula- tion was exhibited throughout the year. Participation in organi- zations and clubs, such as Band. Brigadiers, ROTC, service clubs, academic organizations, and sports groups were as diverse as the individuals involved. Everyone was not the same and each individual counted in halls Standing in front of the school, the stu dents socialize of Robert E. Lee. Anyone so in- clined may have strived for posi- tions of leadership and recogni- tion of skill. An average football player that enthusiastically ex- tended himself to encourage an overall team effort could earn the PiYi Kern Award. Friendships were formed that would last a lifetime.
