It is an asset which we can spend lavishly and thereby accumulate at the same time. It cannot be dissipated because the more we spend of it, the greater it grows. The school administrators are owerless to ive 'ou an education. lt is our dut . . . .P . g V and privilege to provide the physlcal equipment and faculty to present knowledge to you. Each one of you is very fortunate in having the material at hand, but it is your individual responsibility as to the education you get out of it. Reineniberz success comes to the person who does the common things in life uncommonly well. I 1 , ' resldent 4,1 59' ilk.-. DR. HARMON LOWMAN, Superintendent It is my privilege to direct the work of one of the best school systems in the country. The Goose Creek School District has about all that could be desired from the standpoint of buildings, equipment, faculty, and pupils. In the above sentence I have placed the IIIOSL important factor last, because all the preceding factors exist for the last. lt is the ultimate goal of this school system to give every boy and girl in the local district an opportunity to work happily at their maximum capacities. fgfdfg, 717 4:46 .94-v 7,7 Q49 Superintendent Qx p 1' R. B. Si'ARKs, Principal Modern secondary education is a niany-sided affair. It includes participation not only in class instruction but also in activities such as the production of year books, school papers, school plays, athletic con- tests, and other such spheres of action. It includes those things that lead pupils to realize that they are part of a great social order that cannot be its best unless each individual is developed to the limit of his capacity and, at the same time, is made to realize that this capacity must be used for the good of all. This is the kind of education that we are trying to give here at Robert E. Lee. How well we are succeeding, the future will tell.
