lf 3i ? ' 'NHL lheo Il Hazelwood Wlerun Dickerson lercx Payle Captain Basketball 8 Captain Football 27 Captain Track 27 28 Our Leaders In Athletics Theo ll ifelw ood b isketball ciptaln for this year was the Bean Brummel of the High School Cimpus lr to pl ix ed center and gn nd on the team and could always be counted on to do his best all thc time Fhco was one of the most accurate goal shooters on the team. Thco is 1 scnir r md graduates this spring. We will miss him next year. Nlervin Dickerson captain of this years football team was the most valuable man on the team. Playing center, one of the most important positions in the line-up. Mervin could always be count- ed on to do his part. On offence Mervin was very dependable and seldom did a back fail to get the pass just where he wanted it. Defense was Mervin's strong suit and when our opponent had the ball they usually found it tough going to get away from the Gander Captain and the rest of the line. Diskerson was placed on the all district team selected by the coaches of the district. This is his last year on the team and we will miss him next year. This year was Percy Fayle's second year to captain the Gander track team. Percy has those traits of leadership that made him admired and respected by his team mates. Percy has represent- ed Goose Creek in the dashes, hurdles, and jumps for the past three years. He is the real speed- king of the school. Percy played half back on the bootball team and made several long runs last fall. He is a Senior and will be missed next year.
