N! 14 Student Council DON CHESS NED PIPER PYBSIUBM Vice President MR RYBUS Adviser SHARON STUART DIANE WILLS Secretary Historian The l956 57 year saw Don Chess serving as pres: dent of Student Council our school s legislative body Besides Don our council consisted of executive of ficers class and club presidents and advisory repre sentatives Representatives are on the opposite page Annual propects included supervising concessions assemblies elections Elks dances and the sale of A.S.B. tickets. Among the extra projects sportsman- ship was stressed strongly resulting in a vast improve- ment in school behavior. Projects for helping the needy were many this year. The March of Dimes campaign was really a success as was the CARE contribution. Seventy-seven dollars and fifty-eight cents was collected for CARE at one assembly. Money from this collection was used to send food and clothing to the needy people overseas. The World Clothing Drive was also a tremendous suc- cess. Contributions from this drive were distributed among the needy in the United States and in many foreign countries. The council made some improvements in the con- cession facilities around the school. A new popcorn machine was purchased to assure faster and better operation. Plans for a permanent cement block concession stand were approved by the council. When this building, which is to be erected at the east end of the football stadium, is constructed, it will be used as a refreshment stand and as a storage place for some equipment. Operating under the revised constitution, council members felt that the new provisions were definitely successful and expressed great satisfaction in the re- sultmg changes which took place around the school. 22 '5z I Council meeting. xn i Wei si Q get

Y , I Row Row Row Row Row Boo rd of Control Working with Karl Smitl' as the law enforcement body this year were Vice President Rosemary Cook, Secretary Sandra Soots, Work Supervisor Pat Rua, and Adviser Mr. Gorton. Board of Control members gave tickets to students disobeying school rules. These students were tried by an impartial jury of fel- low students and sentenced ac- cording to the number of tickets previously given.
