Beneath his strong discipline fwhich we re- spectlj beats one of the softest hearts we've encountered. ln all of our activities, his presence and sup- port have meant more than Words can say. He made champions of Roberson in this-Our Year- but we know that it takes a champion to make a champion. With this in mind, we, the Seniors of T. C. Roberson High School, dedicate the 1968 Aries to Coach Norris Jones. 4 16 size It is not tl of the dog in the fight, it og. THE MANY FACES size of the fight in the d OF NORHS JONES 2 'f1?f'?'fr -f Governor Dan K. Moore delivered the main address. DEDICATICN of SCHCQL A school which will serve in the years to come as a tribute to an outstanding educator was erected in two building phases-the first completed in 1962 and the second in l965. The T. C. Roberson School, named in honor of the present superintendent of Buncombe County Schools, is an ap- propriate reminder that here is a devoted public servant who feels a personal interest in the educational development of every boy and girl. T. C. Roberson High School was the last of six senior high schools constructed at a cost of S700,000. On August 24, 1962, it opened its doors to students. ln 1965, a gymnasium-auditorium was constructed, costing approximately S350,000. Mr. Guy Ensley has served as principal ofthe school from its opening until the present time. Left: Governor Moore, Mr. Roberson, and Congressman Taylor observe the campus facilities. Right: Congressman Roy A. Taylor presents Mr. Roberson with an award and pays honor to him. I.-llwm 4? l Q x 'Yigigge ig i iifff -9- YR? X . Aren,t you too young to smoke? TUDE T COUNCIL During this year the Student Council has been in the middle of many plans. We've had the best school-spirit week. And the most-spirited in costume were Brenda McKinney and J. L. Childers. Our members this year had the honor of making the School-Spirit Week Schedule that will be followed in years to come. We conducted freshmen elections and the freshmen run-offs. PTSA was pepped up by a large scale membership drive with our students as guides at Open House. The most important achievement of the Student Council during this year will be a school policy handbook for each students understand- ing of his own individual obligations to the school. 76 5 l SENIOR OFFICERS: L-R Wanda Jones, Vice Presidentg Roy 4' , ,lil Williams, Student Body President, Betty Elingburg, Treasurer, , U , l I Paula Queen, Secretaryg David Henderson, President.
