:aculty And Administration Mrs. Widstrom typos one of tho many letters dictated by Mr. Miollo in the course of a busy day. ffce guidance office with whom he has an appointment. Innumerable clerical tasks, concerning administrators, faculty and students, were handled by a secretarial force of five women. Duties handled by this force included typing, filing, taking dictation, handling monies and operating the switchboard. In addition secretaries fulfilled many tasks in the area of student life. They recorded attendance, issued tardy slips, kept detention records, admitted new students to the school, and, in the case of Mrs. Widstrom, even managed the Pep Club booth at the homecoming game! Secretaries to the counselors issued passes, made appointments for students to meet with their counselors and kept specific files and records on each student. Mr». Wienlauf transfers material f om an IBM list as one of her duties. Transcribing from a dictating machine occupies a meior portion of Miss Anderson's working hours.

Students Receive Many Benefits A student fill outa form as she confers with Milt Aalgard of the guidance department. Keeping files on each student and helping that student • plan his life goals were the primary duties of the high school counseling staff. Counselors scheduled and administered several tests during the course of the year. They assisted both faculty and students in the interpretation of test results. These tests included vocational and interest tests, achievement tests, and aptitude tests. Discussion of definite future plans for each senior kept several members of the staff well occupied. They helped students to fill out forms required by colleges. Other seniors received advice pertaining to future training or immediate job opportunities. Any Robbinsdale student could choose to seek information or help for any problem from a counselor. 14 Mr«. Viken acquaint! student Bob Johnson with a current college bulletin.
