But we really shouldn't feel so bad, We ought to feel quite gayg For the Juniors will carry on from here As we go on our way. The past twelve years are just one step That We all had to takeg One more step up the ladder of life That we, ourselves, will make. So face the future with courage and hope And hold your head up highg As each of us goes on our way And the years slip slowly by. -Phyllis Allmon. There is an education of the mind Which all require and parents early start, But there is training of a nobler kind And that's the education of the heart. Lessons that are most difficult to give Are faith and courage and the Way to live. -Edgar A. Guest. Poseyville, Indiana Keith Cox has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his engineering feat in con- structing an atomic-powered drawbridge over Caney Creek. STORY OF THE PLAY Charles Reynolds Linda Kingsley Judy Uhde Dick and Pee-wee, two college boys, arrive at Dick's uncle's house in the country. They are there on some mysterious mission and are not at all dismayed when they learn that Uncle John has been called away to a funeral, and they are to have the place to themselves. Not at all dismayed, that is, until they realize that their money has disappeared. At wit's end, needing cash in a hurry, they decide upon the desperate plan of turning the place into a country hotel. They hang out a sign on the state highway, and as the night is a dark and stormy one, they soon have a houseful of ill-assorted guests: There's Harold Custer, a timid young man, and his frightened mother: Peaches Greeding, a hard-boiled chorus girly Mr. Beamish, a mysterious blind man who taps his way about with a cane, Dr. Omahandra, a West Indian Mystic 3 Kay Samedi, his beautiful and strange patientg and Madame Celesta, a Haitian witch doctor. That night a murder is committed, and one of the guests is slain. The Sheriff of Milburn arrives to take charge of the investigationg so does Miss Emma, the Sheriff of Hopetown-for the house is built on the county line which bisects the living room, placing the evidence in one county, and the corpse in the other. There is quite a rigamarole with the law. So involved does it become that Dick has to take over, and with the help of ten-year-old Daisy, finally solves the crime. 5 Q Q 9 W R CP Q 4 i l-gil Ilzwffmilff llzlllilzlllliliil Iififiwlii' lillliw- lilllllillim IYIIINIII-'1lIl1l Hllllllfill Ylllllihllllili m' ... w liliFl'Al'i'mu1 IHIIIIEIEYNIIIHW- uwunkji mmluudlll vullumrimdl mnzunill mmmumuli 3 J 1 3 1 Q WJ - Q 1 ., N Q' X P s wr., , ,iw ' I fe it ..1 4' 1-sf x ii- w ,A S 11,- Af We ,l Z' F i r L F. 2 E L x I I l' Left to right, kneeling-Don Zenthoefer, Tom Fletchall, Eddie Schutz, John Wilkinson, Jerry Rutledge, Gerald Gates, Alan LaMar, Coach Don Miller.
