BILLY July 9, 1943 In jlflemrfry Forgive our grief for one removed, Thy creature, whom we found so fair. We trust he lives in Thee, and there We find him worthier to be 1oved. Alfred Lord Tennyson in IN MEMORIAM HIPP May 5, 1957 1 Dedicativn To our helpful and understanding sponsor who has rendered every service possible to uphold the spirit of Roaring Springs School: to one who has worked without ceasing for our ed- ucational improvementg to one who encour- aged us and guided us in all our undertak- ingsg who in our years at Roaring Springs taught us willingly, faithfully and with full- est capacity, we, the Senior Class of 1958, proudly dedicate this edition of REFLECTOR to our very own - Mrs. Roxie Lewis HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING 1935 -1936 GRADE SCHOOL BUILDING 1946-47 LUNCHROOM STAFF: Sandra Braselton, Marie Owens, Gaynell Mitchell, Lois Nolen, Mrs. Hazel Bridges, Jerry Warren. Schorfl Program ,Assistants CUSTODIAN: ,Julian Nolen dministratior 1 Superintendent is Message STUDENTS OF THE ROARING SPRINGS SCHOOL: Again we have come to the end of another school year. In the beginning of the year, we all had definite objectives in mind. Some of us reached the desired standardg others of us failed. To those who were successful, I trust you may be as successfulin the future. To those who failed, I admonish you to put forth new and stronger effort, so that you may attain the desired goal. To all of you, Ihope you will always do things to make Roaring Springs High School proud of you. A5144 Prilfczjwzlis' Message History records that in times of great national stress strong leaders always appear. Such leaders do not appear by accident, but are the product of careful planning and preparation. The years you spend in school may seem long and hard, at times even fruitless, but your future will prove your education was not in vain. You will be better prepared to adapt yourself to every circumstance and to take full advantage of every opportunity that will certainly come your way. Cs 7779 Message Science! Medical discoveries! Satellites! Education! These are the headlines of our newspapers today. The basis for all of these headlines is Education. Just what is education? In some ways education is like a building. They must both be built. The starting point is the foundation. Next comes the framework, the filling in, and finally the finishing which is what most people see. In education the foundation could be compared to the elementary schoolg the framing to high school, the filling in to collegeg and finally the finishing to graduate specializa- tion. In education, most people see the accomplishments of the graduate work done. Any building contractor will tell you that no building is any better than its foundation. It can be just a plain build- ing or one of grandeur - poor foundation - poor building, good foundation - good building. In education it is similiar, with a good elementary foun- dation, there are no limits to what you can conquer Iomor- row with work, sincerity, integrity, and perseverance. nzgffim Grade chan!
