FOREWORD For underclassmen, school seems to be a never ending choreg for seniors, the past years went all too quickly. This, the seventh edition of RippleS, encompasses the signifi- cant and insignificant events of 1959. We, the staff, hope that we can recap- ture a living picture of the accomplishments of the past school year - academically, sportswise, socially. Holding this in mind, we are proud to present the RippleS of '59. 62935. In the ensuing years at Roaring Spring he was not only to prove himself most com- petent in these fields, but also to demon- strate excellence as a coach of football and basketball and a director of class plays. Thus, it is with greatest pride and ad- miration that the staff dedicates the '59 RippleS to Joseph J. Conlon - teacher, coach, director, and friend. The thinker. H L r- .:.: f - - ' During all our years of high school life one of the most valuable and rewarding experiences is the publication of a yearbook. Although there are times of tribulation and indecision along with much toil and worry, every moment spent in working on the yearbook is deeply cherished. A part of every student and graduate lingers in his yearbook as it is the link between him and the wonderful by-gone days of high school. Much time is accumulated between the pages as we muse over pictures and the memories of good times return. The day we won the championship, the hard work of varsity sports, band practice, prom night and other events are all indelible because of the yearbook. Many thanks go to all those who contributed to the success of our yearbook with special' recognition to Art Editor, Pat Millerg Literary Editor, Elaine Akeg our photographer, Nevin Albrightg our advisor, Mr. Keller, and our representative from the Inter-Collegiate Press, Mr. Howe. We sincerely hope that the '59 RippleS will give you as much enjoyment as we have gained from preparing it for you. We should be interested in the future, for that is where we are going to spend the rest of our lives and high school is the best foundation for a full lifeg but we should keep surging onward to higher things and with determination we are bound to succeed. Remember: They on the heights are not the souls Who never erred nor went astray, Who trod unswerving toward their goals Along a smooth rose-bordered way. Nay! Those who stand where first comes dawn Are those who stumbled - but went on!
