DEDI ATIO We, the graduating class of 1961, at Roanoke Catholic High School do hereby dedi- cate this issue of the ge-yto our Coordinator, the Reverend John Patrick Hannan. To Father Hannan, we offer this thank you, a mite in comparison to all that he has done for us and our Alma Mater. The students of R.C.H., especially the seniors, will always remember how he show- ed us the right way in life, firmly, but with a personal interest in each and every one of us and was never too busy to listen to our suggestions and entreaties. Like Saint Paul, his first emphasis is always on the things of the spirit. Under his supervision and guidance, the standards of Roanoke Catholic High have risen even higher. We are confident that the years to come will see a bigger, newer, and better building and greater advantages because of the work of our first Coordinator. It is with utmost sincerity and gratitude that we dedicate our annual to Father Hannan and beg God's blessings on him for the years to come. 5

FOREWORD This 1961 edition of the Key salutes at once the old and the new R.C.H. We, the Senior Class, offer a glance at both in this year's annual. The forthcoming pages unfold nostalgic memories for all of us. The halls and classrooms of our old building will ring with echoes of talk, laughter, and prayer. The Walls will always radiate the warmth and friendliness we have found there. Nowabeautiful new school is rising from our beloved grounds, a wonderful structure with large classrooms and well-equipped laboratories. Soon it will be as cherished as the old, for its pupils and faculty will carry their warmth and humor into it. God's blessing be upon both for all time! Enjoy these pages, our salute to the old and new R.C.H. e
