To us, this ring is a symbol of glorious memories of hard work, tears and laughter. I know all of us remember the mixed feelings we experienced on our first day in high school. We strived so hard to make a good impression by sitting straight in our desks with our hands neatly folded. Surrounding us on that first day was a veil of tension until a bold sophomore wrote Welcome, Frosh on the blackboard. Our freshman year passed quickly into the sophomore. Hops, dates, football and basketball games filled our days along with our scholastic efforts. Before we knew it we were writing essay after essay for our sensational junior teacher. Will we ever forget the night of our Junior Prom! After all our savings and work, we looked with pride at the shining results. Finally, the day of all days came when we received our coveted rings. No one but a senior can know the feeling of accomplishment one experiences at this time. This year passed quickly and gra- duation night found us solemn with the realization that we were leaving our old school. But, we will never forget it, nor can anything be as exciting and interesting as our high school days. 53
