May Queen The student body of Roanoke Catholic High School and children of Saint Andrew Grade School marched nn processnon from the entrance of R C H to the beautntul Sarnt Andrew Church around the church and to the places previously assrgned them all the while slngang the famnllar May hymns to our Blessed Mother Muss Patsy Grnffln a member of the Senior Class crowned Mary Queen of the May and Queen, too, of all of her children who love her so dearly The lnttle children who asslsted Patsy were chosen from the second thlrd and fourth grades The custom ot havung the sensors sung a hymn whsle standing around the May throne and of havnng all nn the church re cute the Act of Consecratuon as enough to melt the hardest of hearts Mfg?

Queen For a Day The annual Sweetheart Dance was held an the audutonum which had been decorated for the Kung and Queen of Hearts and the Valentine Court The Sensor Class had many hours of fun planning and gettlng ready for thus gala affair A campangn had been In progress for ten days Each home room worked day and nlght to put Its candndates ln the honor posntlons Not untll the moment of ten on February I4 was the seal broken and the number of votes read The results showed that the Sophomore class was far far an the lead So Kitty Leonard was crowned Queen and Reggie Tyler became her Kung The attendant Gabruella Eeattne had every reason to be proud of asslstlng such a queen After the crowning ceremony a floor show was presented for the entertainment of the Royalty of R C H Then followed more dancing tlll mldnlght Good musuc excellent program kind chaperones and a wonderful student body all added up to a perfect evennng The court consisted of Freshmen B Zack J Burnop H Hllderbrand Sensors Welsh S Lnndus P Thomas Juniors Dugan D Assaud K Martin Emcee M ONelll
