Our attempt was continually aided by the entire crew with their ad- vice, photographic contributions and financial supp ort. We would also like to thank our staff for their wholehearted co-operation, especially, Lease, N. E., PH3 and his two assistants who have made the exce llent photographic work in this book possible. Also, to maintain a fine balance of photography and art, we employed the services of one Pay Jones who has far exceeded the greatest expectations of the Ed itors, the staff and the publisher's artist. Apprecia- tion is also expressed to the P. I. O. staff who have been most helpful to us. Our endeavor has been to please the entire crew and present a pleasant reminder of the 1953 'MED' Cruise. We sincerely hope that you will Congi der our efforts a success. THE EDITORS. -W , ' gr-wwf 4'-nn-1 'xsgl h ..,,,m . ' .'
