Prophecy When I picked up the receiver tonight to call a friend, I discovered that someone was already using the phone, I noticed the conversation was concerning my visit home and my former classmates of '54. So I listened to the conversation, ' A main event had taken place last week, It was the alumni banquet with Stephen Petty as toastmaster, Stephen had won the famous 'All American' award for doing away with leap year, - . Other members of my class attending the banquet were Mr, and Mrs, Richard Summers from Texas, Richard is a college professor fbelieve it or noty at a small college there, and Mrs, Summers, Bonnie Bryan, is a history teacher at a small school nearby, Richard and Bonnie were married after they graduated from college and now they have two sets of charming twins. Dale Hapner, the class comedian, had flown in from New York, He is making his career in movies and T V. He is known in the entertaining world as Blue Buttons. It was mentioned that Mr, and Mrs. Peter Van Buskirk from Stockdale, Indiana also attended. Mrs, Van Buskirk is known as the famous Sara Jane Kratzer, who invented a better way to learn bookkeeping in the latter part of her senior year at Roann. Her fame has increased through the years, My old classmate Edith Hively who is now Mrs, Alberto Gassaman met her husband in Italy when she went on her expedition of digging in the old ruins of Pompeii, Edith had won several awards because of it, Of all the Seniors of '54, I didn't expect Edith to choose an occupation like that, Harley Steele who worked at Whitley's Filling Station doesn't work there now because he now owns quite a number of filling stations, He revolutionized the gasoline industry because he invented a pill that you put in your gasoline tank, His stations sell these pills by the millions, Our Famous Hair Stylist in America is Carol Dyson, I-ler latest creation in hair styling is the Mop, She had been showing her styles in France, The idol of all bobby soxers Qof all thingsj is Jack Hall, Since he was in the two class plays, he decided to make acting his occupation, and he is making millions at it, Jack is currently starring in the 'Velvet Fog, The novelist of the year is Mrs, Dwight Fouts, She was the former Susanne Baber. She has written many books and all of them best sellers, Her latest is Know Your Government, Seniors, The farmer of the year is Robert Kirtlan, Robert is a very prosperous farmer owning thirteen farms, He also invented a way to cultivate two hundred acres in half a day. After listening to the long and interesting conversation, I realized my ten years away from Roann had been the milestones of my former classmates lives, Joyce Needham
