Rocme County High School The predecessor of Roane County High School was a school known as Rittenhouse Academy which was es - tablishedin 1806, just ten years after Tennessee be- came the sixteenth state of the Union. In 1903 the trustees of the Rittenhouse Academy turned the pro- perty over to Roane County, and in that year Roane County HighSchool was established.
