Ire .gresfcman Clan The Freshrnan Class of '49 consists of nine pupils, five girls and four boys. Nearly all of the boys participated in basketball. Roland Hardin James Tegtmeier and Danny Hevelone acted as substitutes on the second team Ruth Lineweber Isabel White and Dorothy Miller were substitutes on the volleyball team. Initiation in the fall was a big event for the Freshmen and they followed it by a return party for the Sophomore Class The officers of the class are President-Ruth Lineweber Vice-President-James Tegtmeier Secretary-Dorothy Ellis The class colors are aqua Danny I-Ievelone James Tegtrneier Vernon ldeus Roland Hardin Ruth Lxneweber Dorothy Miller Isabel White Marjorie Brockman Dorothy Ellis and gold and the class flower is a white rose Any time he d gladly leave his dull books I m not afraid to study but life is too short to l exist as I am but that is enough Most wisdom goes with a few words Watch out, she may be foolin Her modesty is a candle to her merit ' ls she as innocent as she seems? She is as industrious as the day is long ork first then play is her creed waste he oplzomore Cfau At the beginning of our Sophomores year we initiated the Freshmen and were given hayrack ride as our return party We were very active in all sports this year Bob Emerson, Jim Smith and Don Linsenmeyer were on the baseball tearn Donna Stuteville Joan Abbott Kathryn Forsyth and Barbara Switzer were on the softball team Bob Emerson, Don Linsenrneyer, and Jun Smith were subs for the first tearn and played on the second team in basketball this year Joan Abbott was a cheerleader Kathryn Forsyth Joan Abbott and Barbara Switzer, were members of the drarnatic club and gave readings Barbara Switzer and Kathryn Forsyth were in the one act play Balcony Scene Bob Lineweber, Jim Smith Don Linsenrneyer and Bob Emerson, were members of the FFA Bob Emerson was President Don Lmsenmeyer, Vice President and Jim Smith Sec retary of this group Joan Abbott Marilyn Siems and Barbara Switzer were on the WINDY CORNER staff Dolores Arnold Barbara Switzer and Kathryn Forsyth sang in the girls octet Joan Abbott sang in the girls trio Bob Emerson Jun Smith, and Don Linsenmeyer, sang in the boys trio Bob Emerson Don Linsemneyer Barbara Switzer and Joan Abbott sang solos Joan Abbott and Donna Stuteville played piano solos These people performed at the Mudecas and District contests and the Music Festival at Fxlley The officers of the class are President Bob Emerson, Vice President Barbara Switzer, Secretary Donna Stuteville Joan Abbott Barbara Switzer Dolores Arnold Bobby Lineweber Donald Linsenmeyer Bobby Emerson Marilyn Siems Jimmy Smith Donna Stuteville Kathryn Forsyth For if she will she will you may depend on it, and if she won t she won t so there s an end on it She has a heart but only for one llike em tall dark and handsome Women the least of his worries Maybe l ll get the car next year Happy am I, from care am free why can t they all be contented like me ?
