Students and Teachers: Well, Readers of the 1949-50 ECHOES and all the ships at sea, we have gone to press and after a hectic year of planning, taking pictures, and writing, the ECHOES is at last a reality in your hands. May this reality mean as much to you as the dream of it has meant to us. Since student opinion seems to favor an in- formal annual with the maximum of such features as snapshots and personalities, the staff and I, have done our best to give you such a book. If we have lost any friends or alienated any teachers in the process, it was entirely unintentional-- life on the ECHOES staff being a succession of haunting responsibilities and advancing dead- lines. Nevertheless, it has been a wonderful op- portunity--an experience to be remembered and treasured as long as a copy of the 1949-50 ECHOES remains to bring back fond memories. Shirley J.
