He is a most tactful coordin- ator of the community, the faculty, and the Board of Education. MRS. EVELYN CULBERTSON, School Secretary Mr. Turner's first year as Principal at Unified District 404 has impressed all those who work with him. Forest Nelson New track will be used for the first time this year. and C. L. Harper are Scout masters. Bleachers make games more enjoyable. These are some of the many improvements planned and developed by our administrators. Many less noticeable but equally important aids to the education, health, and learning opportunities of our chil- dren are provided each year. ' ' ' 3, IC l The Sound Of Music The girls' glee club, under the direction of Miss Sara Gilstrap, is composed of voices from the seventh and eighth grades. They sing in from two to four part harmony, and have performed at several concerts during the year. Besides the enjoyment of singing, much work is done in the study of theory and harmony. s .. A Q .. - isloii d Music fills the air at one o'clock every school day as the boys' glee club rehearses under the baton of Mr. james Fleming. 14 Sounds! Sounds! Beautiful Sounds! Clarinets, flutes, piccolos, trumpets, trombones, bass, and drums are some of the instruments appreciative audiences will hear when the concert band performs at various school programs. District parades would not be complete without Riverton's Grade School Marching Band. Christmas parades entered included Baxter, Galena, Columbus. Rusty Ewen, Drum Major Music Time Is Pleasure Time This band is composed of beginning band students, mostly from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. They receive instruction in the rudiments of music, music appreciation and the close concentration required to play together as a unit. These future violinists are willing to put in the long hours of practice necessary to create a good concert orches- tra.
