5 by ' pppp Bessie Lyons Lathrop Three Wishes DEDICATION Mrs. Lathrop and her grandchildren A fairy allows us three wishes, Three wishes for a friendg Now, honest and true, that must be you, So three to you we send. We wish you a body so healthy That living is pure delight, Your work every day like happy play, Your sleep like a child's at night. We wish you a mind so responsive That nothing escapes your ken, The Creator's plan, nor the notes of Pan, Nor the good in your fellow men. We wish you a heart prone to loving, That all may be dear to you, Your friends indeed, all those you need, And those who need you, too. We've wished you our three best wishes, But the three are really one, God grant you wealth- -just perfect health, Until your day is done. Bessie Lyons Lathrop has taught in the Cherokee County schools for thirty-two years. Her entire life has been given to others her pupils, her parents, her three children, and an adopted son. It is with the utmost admira- tion for her perseverance and tenacity, that We, the Annual Staff and sponsors, dedicate this 1963 edition of the Dynamo, Year of Memories, to Mrs. Lathrop.
