Vocational Agriculture boys hold a prominent place in local and state activities. The Riverton judging team placed third in state competition. Dick Darnall earned a State Farmer Award-a very small percent of F.F.A. boys in the state receive this award. Twelve things F.F.A. boys try to remember as they prepare for their future careers are: the value of time, the success of perseverance, the pleasure of working, the dignity of simplicity, the worth of character, the power of kindness, the influence of example, the obligation of duty, the wisdom of economy, the virtue of patience, the importance of talent, and the joy of originating. This is the first year since 1956 that the F.F.A. boys have had the privilege of working in a shop. The new shop is, of course, a great asset toward the furtherance of Future Farmer training. Mary Griffin was the chapter president. The purpose of this organization is to promote interest in home economics and to realize the importance of home and family life. The club colors are red and white and the motto is: 4'Toward New Horizons. Four members. Mary Griffin. Carol Carper. Mary Gilster. and Judy Connell, attended the state meeting at Laramie. Some major actixities for the year were a bake sale. a dance. and a sale of Carrot sticks at some of the ballgames. The Future Homemakers had a banquet at which the F.l7.:X. buys serxed. Dirk Oarnall was c-hosen PHA. Beau. Xlr. Connell. Mrs. Fhepherd. Mr. Carper. and Mr. Griffin were elected Chapter Mother and Fathers.
