STUDENT COUNCIL A prominent part of Riverton High School is the Student Council. The council acts as the leadership branch of the student body. The council has been responsible for many worth while activities during the year. The publication of a weekly news letter was put into effect this year for the first time. Its purpose is to inform the students of council affairs and activities of student concern. Under the direction of the Student Council the monitor system was again used to keep order in the halls between classes and at noon. The Student Council is also in charge of the activity points system. This system is set up to give the students credit for their outside activities. After achieving 100-200 points a student is rewarded with an Honor certificate or Honor pin.
