SOPHOMORES-PAGES OF THE COURT On September 2, 1947, thirty-two freshmen enrolled at R.H.S. They started their four-year journey through R.H.S. as Court Jesters. The class oflicers for the year were Jane Garber, president: Patricia Martin, vice-president: Frederick Bro, secretary: and Doris Winfrey, treasurer. The class sponsors for the year were Miss Mary Louise Atkins and Mr. Arley B. Culbertson, Patsy Ann Larison and Robert Venturella were class princess and the prince. Patsy Ann Ann Larison was also chosen as freshman candidate for Sweetheart Queen. On March 9, 1948, they presented a successful three-act play entitled A Girl Named Pat. On September 6, 1948, thirty of these students returned to R.H.S. to resume classes for their sophomore year. This time they were known as Royal Pages. Mr. Wyatt P. Laughlin and Mr. Herbert S. Madaus were selected as class sponsors. Class officers for the second year were Robert Venturella, presi- dent: Harold Price, vice-president: Clark Fleming, secretary: and Lillian Ander- son, treasurer. Lillian Anderson and Charles Shanks were class princess and the prince. Patsy Ann Larison was 1948 Football Queen. Doris Winfrey and Dorothy Watson were class cheerleaders. The class play for the year was The Sunshine Twins. Class Colors: Blue and White Class Flower: Carnation Class Motto: The ropes of the past ring the bells of the future. EI I Page Twenty
