Nothing To Wear? Wear Nothing. Although different groups of students disagreed on styles, all students took great pride in displaying their idea of a neat wardrobe. Watching students parade from class to class in a style of clothing, ranging from punk to preppy, many of the faculty members compared student life at Poly to a bizarre fashion show. What a show it was! A mixture of metallic pumps, penny loaf- ers, vans, dock-siders, espa-drillers, and the ever-popular Nike's scurried through the halls. The introduction of the new vogue look brought mini skirts and pad- ded shoulder blouses, this group fighting for the look with those who found 501 's, T-shirts, and the increasingly popular sweatsuit to be the peak of their graphs of style. l. To Eat r Not To Eatl Despite the fact that the new bell sched- ule added a generous two minutes, lunch- time remained relatively unchanged. For most seniors, and a few lucky juniors, the ability to drive to such popular spots as Taco Bell, Carl's lr., McDonald's and Del Taco became a new-found freedom. Those less fortunate students who were forced to stay on campus had a choice of bringing food made by mom, Cseniors made their ownl buying food from the cafeteria, usual- ly creating litter for the janitors to pick up, or just not eating. I Another major decision faced by stu- dents on campus was where to sit during lunch. This seemed to be determined by the people they hung around with. The most popular gathering places, some used for many years, included such areas as the library steps, the Little Theatre, next to the lockers, the picnic tables, and some new additions like the locker bays in the center of campus, or the new grass in front of the 500's building. l.
