Wednesday . . .June 4, 1969 . . .Memorial Auditorium at 8:00 . . . 400 or more white-gowned and capped seniors are ending their twelve years of books and weekend fun . . . leaving behind the football games and crowded gyms . . . preparing for a different more real world . . . a world of business and war as usual. It ended all too soon . . . the games of childhood turned to learning to write and read . . . learning to add . . . finding places on maps . . . and sing- ing in the school choir . . . some couldn't sing . . . but they could paint . . . or play football . . . or draw and the purpose of school dawned bright . . . to help each of us find something to do . . . and then help us to do it. It finally arrives . . . your senior year Remem- ber Beautiful girls in ful gowns, handsom in tuxedos of man marvelous decoratior sic, dancing and ror These are the event make the prom the to be remembered. Money for this . . . more money for that . . . but you find it . . . after all it's your last year . . . your senior year . . . and you're going to graduate. The night finally arrives . . . you go to the auditorium . . . the band plays . . . some in uniform . . . the seniors in that white cap and gown . . . proud parents watch . . . it's an end for them too . . . and that piece of paper . . . your diploma . . . your reward . . . for sitting through those dull classes . . . cold football games . . . and crowded gyms ...itls the end ...the beginning of a brave new world . . . graduation . . .a beginning and an end . . .
