Teams Rally Behind Captains Gehret, Hunter Looking for the best leader on their team, the girls chose Kate Gehret, White captain and Debbie llunter, Maroon captain. Along with her duties as White captain, Kate Cehret was member of the girls, basketball team all four years. As ajunior she was named to the Coaches, All County Second team. Draper ,Terreri Growned As Team Misses After Mr. Cancellieri announced team Queens, Carol and Linda Draper, Michele Terreri and Miss R.H.S. Karen Casearino show their emotions as pictures are being taken. , izy V The Draper twins take hold of Miss Maroon together and also show their spirit as they represent the Hpush me-pull youu. '-:'f3...... Happiness is expressed by both smiles and tears as Carol and Linda Draper are crowned Miss Maroon on Friday Night of Sports Night. Honored by their teammates, Carol and Linda Draper were named Misses Maroon and Michele Terreri was chosen as Miss White. Besides helping Maroon captain Debbie Hunter, both Carol and Linda Draper headed Maroon Op- tional and were the push-me pull- you in the fifth theme act. They also were active in the volleyball game and in tug-a-war. Participating in the Whiteis theme dance, along with heading the jazz interpretation of 'iFire, Michele Terreri's spirited dedication earned her the honor of Miss White. Michele also helped with scenery and led the White gymnastic team. Michele Terreri, Miss White, waits anxiously for her teams Hawaiian theme dance to begin. i or c or Without a doubt, Maroon's Phyllis jones holds the lead as she races around the marker Friday night. For the first time the tug-a-war was a rcal challengefi -Michele Chiaccio Dressed to win, Whiteas Kathie McNally heads for the finish line in the clothes' race during Saturday night's competition. Strategy and Skill Needed During Relays For the second consecutive year, Maroon captured the Sports Trophy for Sports Night, winning three of the four events. ln the first event, basketball, Maroon turned up a 22-12 victory over White, due to the outstanding offensive playing by Pat Crossland, Pam Woodington, and captain Deb- bie Hunter. White came back in volleyball with a score of 2-1, tying Maroon l-1 in events. ln the final event, Maroon won tug-a-war and gymnastics, 2-l, 60.8-55.8 respectively, which gave them the trophy, presented the Saturday of Sports Night. This year in Sports Night, all the sports were really close, especially basketball and the tug-a-war.', -Cindy Tevis Struggling to pick up the heavy tire, Senior Athena Harding tries to get the tire up ovcr her head as fast as she can before her White team competitor can.
