Seniors Seize Spirit Week with Western Wciys With the capturing ot the coveted Spirit Week spirit stick, the senior class had otticially won the I972 Spirit Week competition. Beginning a tradition this year, the victor was not announced until thebasketball game on the last Friday night ot Spirit Week. Under the direction ot president Gary Kent, the class ot I972 presented the theme How the West Was Won in their spirit skit and tollowed through with it in their hall decorations, which consisted ot murals depicting an Old West town. Following close behind in all aspects ot Spirit Week competition, the junior class presented Walt Disney characters, the sophomores also had a western theme, and the treshmen, Super-Ram. Serving as judges, Mr. Walter Kani- gowski, Mr. Jesse Welsh, Mr. Lewis Fisher, and Mr. John Ferner gave points tor hall decorations, spirit skits, dress-up days, ath- letic events' attendance, optional, and li- brary bulletin boards. Seniors Gayle Letwinas and Kathy Kanigowski re-paint the faculty parking space numbers in order to receive more spirit week points tor a special service to the school.
