CLASS HISTORY In the fall of September l939 very shyly we entered R H S as Greenles We gradually became acqualnted w1th the teachers rooms and new classmates Our othcers that year were GlOI'1Q Bertrand Pres1dent Francxs DeMartele1re V1ce Pres1dent Dor1s Cannon Secretary and Ruth Chr1st1e Treasurer Our soc1al affa1r was our class party Very enthus1ast1cally we returned from our summer vacat1on to our second year Now that we were no longer shy we rece1ved the name of the loudest cheerers of that year We were seen at all the dances and plays grven by the upper classes Our soc1al affarrs were the class party and the Sen1or Sophomore dance Our class olhcers were Walter Kan1gowsk1 Pres1dent Mary Lynch V1ce Pres1dent Sh1rley Zrpperlem Secretary and Dons Cannon Treasurer Now we were growxng up We were Iumors Th1s year we chose our class banner and rece1ved our class r1ngs Our ma1n events were the Iumor Semor play the Iumor Sen1or prom and Class N1ght We elected the tollowmg oth cers Adnan Bal Pres1dent Walter Kan1gowsk1 VICG Pres1dent Dorothy God shall Secretary and Allce Coyle Treasurer At last our three year dream ot becom1ng Sen1ors came true Adnan Bal Walter Kan1gowsk1 and Al1ce Coyle were reelected wh1le Mlldred H111 became our new secretary We ran the concesslon stand at the football games and sponsored some dances We were ably gu1ded by our advlsers M1ss Ceccarell1 and Mr Steen Our Sen1or year saw our country at war and many of our boys our Pres1dent among them 1eav1ng our m1dst to 1o1n the fighting forces Ioseph B1shop was elected to f1ll h1S place 1n lead1ng the class Our outstandlng events were the Iumor Sen1or prom and the class trlp The prom was held 1n Apnl xnstead of ln Iune as had been the custom pre v1ously Slnce we could not go to Washxngton because of the war we took a tr1p to New York instead dur1ng the month of May In Iune came class n1ght baccalaureate serv1ces and graduat1on March1ng up the a1sle we suddenly remembered how qu1ckly those four years had flown We left R H S wrth a sob 1n our throats Our Alma Mater w1l1 remam dear to us through the years to come 27 1 1 . . . 11 . 11 . .
