ELI-XSS HISTUHY In the fall of September 1937 we stumbled into Riverside High School as Fresh1es We could be seen running around meeting new faces and getting our rooms mlxed up As our class officers that year we chose Raymond Workman President Selma He1tzer V1ce President Millxcent Brush Secretary and Victor Verrochio Treasurer Our social affalr was our class party After a long summer vacation we returned to school as noisy Sophomores and we were true to our name' We spent this year cheering our heads off at the football games and supporting dances and plays given by the upper classes Our social affairs were our class party a mov1e benefit and the Senior Sophomore dance We also made a name for ourselves by selllng more tickets for the operetta than any other class Our class offlcers were William Walker President El11ah Mosteller V1ce President Charlotte Iohn Secretary and Iean Snow Treasurer After a year of being Sophomores we finally were growing up We returned as Iuniors much wiser full of pep and rar1ng to go We elected the follow1ng Meeks Secretary and Theodore K1rchner Treasurer Probably the most exc1t ing event this year was the arrival of our class rings Other events were the selection of the class banner and the Iumor Senior play We ended the year with two glorious events Class Night and the Prom At last our three year dream of becoming the high and mighty Seniors came true Our officers th1s year were George Yoest Pres1dent Margaret Barr Vice President Marion Meeks Secretary and Theodore Kirchner Treasurer We worked very hard to make everything we attempted a success First We started to swell our treasury by running a concession stand at the football games and selllng candy around school In the meantime we gave the Senior Iumor play What A Life We also sponsored a mov1e benefit The weeks before the Washington trip the a1r was f1lled with excitement and then came that wonderful tr1p Iune finally arrived and with it the Prom Class N1ght baccalaureate and commencement Then came the most important day of all As we marched up the alsle for our diplomas we reahzed how suddenly those four years 1n Riverside High School had come to an end We left R H S with a touch of sorrow in our hearts Our Alma Mater would always have a special place 1n our book of happy memories 23 . .
