a Foreword As the bugles blow, King Arthur, followed by his magician, Merlin, steps up to his place on the platform. The tournament is about to begin. The knights salute the king and take their places. With the sound of the bugle, the knights rush into battle with armor clamoring and swords clashing. The crowd watches breathlessly, spellbound by the brave knights. At last a victor steps forth. As he walks forward, his lady tosses him a flower. The king rises and is proud to welcome the brave knight to the Round Table. Although centuries have passed since those magnificent ceremonies, we at Riverside still feel that those magnificent valiant knights emerging victorious during the Age of Chivalry symbolize our efforts to attain our goals in academic standing. As students striving for scholastic honors, we follow the example of the noble knights of the Round Table. The Round Table symbolizes our well-rounded education superintended by the training of our capable faculty. Completing Riverside's transformation into King Arthur's retinue is our sports program. With it is our companion, good sportsmanship, that truly represents the nature of the knight emulously competing in the tournaments. The following pages are commentaries on the adventures and deeds of a Riverside Frontier in King Arthur's Court. 'R Jelhmck

Dedication WAS we, the class of '59, go through our final year of high school, we discover that we owe deep gratitude to some special people. With their help we have prepared for the future. They have helped us face that future with endurance and courage. Through years of receiving advice from them, we have been able to acquire correct values and maturejudgement. They have given us unlimited time, boundless patience, and understanding love. They have shown keen interest in our problems and have gratefully assisted us in our decisions. Their concern for our development will surely help mold us into the good citizens of tomorrow. Our four years at Riverside have left us with many friends, interests, and enjoyments that we will never forget. But these rewards are very small compared to all we have received from these special people. Most of all, they have rewarded us with their love, and we hope that we shall be worthy of their precious gift. For these reasons, and many others, we dedicate the Skipper to you, our parents.
