1 Tribute to Retired Teachers MARIAN H. CARTER Miss Carter came to Riverside on the day- it opened and she continued three years past our school's twenty fifth anniversary. She had previously taught in Lockport s ele mentary school and School 60 in Buffalo. She is a graduate of Lafayette High School, Buffalo Normal School and Canisius College. MARY M. KLEIN contributing to the academic life of Riverside. Technology, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Miss Carter's extended years of service as a teacher are perhaps best characterized by the words of President Samuel B. Gould of Antioch College: A work which is magnificent in its purposes and deeply satisfying in its achievements-bestows upon you a touch of immortality Miss Carter saw in each boy and girl a distinct personality and soul. She is understanding and sympathetic to human frailty as well as to strength, and she inspired the best Long remembered at Riverside, especially w1th1n the memories of our future homemakers, will be Mrs. Mary M Klein. Her diversified talents and integrity of motive strengthened all those with whom she came into Contact Along with homemaking, she also taught social science Mrs. Klein taught at Riverside for four and one half years. In Memoriam HENRY J. HUFFCUT For twenty-six years Mr. Henry Huffcut was in charge of attendance at Riverside High School. Through his faithfulness in the performance of his duties, River- side set a record for attendance for four consecutive years. Mr. Huffcut was not a stranger to the area. He had been a pioneer resident in the community and had been active in its civic affairs. Three of his children, Ruth, Robert, and james, are graduates of Riverside High School. His friendly smile and cheerful greeting have en- deared him to the faculty and student body of Riverside High School. Those who knew Mr. Huffcut will long remember him for his warm friendship, his concern for others, his faithfulness, and his patient spirit. - Vs, SE? x fag
